⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What is a keynote speech?

Impulsvortrag

A keynote speech is much more than just a short presentation. It is a targeted thought-provoking stimulus that is emotional, inspiring, and addresses topics from everyday working life. In approximately 15 to 45 minutes, our experienced speakers manage to get to the heart of key topics such as change, motivation, and communication, while engaging the audience. This creates a lasting effect, encouraging participants to engage with the topic intellectually. Unlike a traditional keynote speech, a keynote speech is not about in-depth analysis, but about the power of brevity. A powerful idea, a change of perspective, or a concrete impulse—this is often enough to awaken new energy, question behavior patterns, and initiate change. This allows a short time slot in an agenda to be used to bring new momentum to the event and give participants something to take away with them.

Who is a keynote speech suitable for?

A keynote speech is ideal for any company that wants to create an unforgettable event and is open to new ideas. A keynote speech can be used very effectively in the following areas:

  • as the start of a workshop or conference,
  • as a highlight during a team event,
  • for inspiration at a kick-off meeting,
  • or as an emotional conclusion to a change process:

The keynote speech adapts to your context – precise, motivating, and relevant in terms of content.

Content and impact – what makes a good keynote speech?

A good keynote speech is based on extensive experience and very important building blocks. This is the only way to ensure a lasting impact on the audience. Here is a rough list of the most important points of the keynote speech.

  • conveys complex topics in a simple and understandable way
  • emotionalizes the audience and creates goosebump moments
  • brings new perspectives – often with humor and storytelling
  • encourages reflection and implementation
  • leaves a lasting impression – even after the event is over

In our keynote speeches at BITOU, we combine these qualities with a strong connection to the real world of work. Our speakers come from the field, speak the language of the teams, and manage to re-inspire even those who are “change-weary.”

Why a keynote speech by BITOU?

We are experts in sustainable change—which always begins with inspiration.

Here at BITOU, we believe that inspiration can be the start of real change. But not every keynote speech strikes a chord with the audience, let alone the team. That’s why we design our keynote speeches to be not only informative and monotonous, but also experience-oriented, emotional, and individually tailored to the company. While many keynote speeches often remain purely frontal and theoretical, we bring movement to the keynote speech, i.e., into people’s minds and into their teamwork. Our moderators are not only speakers, but also experienced team trainers who know from years of experience how to reach people in companies. A keynote speech is not about imposing one’s own interests and convictions on the audience, but rather about inspiration and new ways of thinking.

Practical report Keynote speech

Initial situation: The medium-sized company aluplast was facing a major change process: a new management structure, digitization of internal processes, and a cultural shift toward more personal responsibility within the team. The management was looking for a way to approach this challenging topic in a way that would appeal to employees on an emotional level while also addressing the practical aspects.
After a detailed consultation, the decision was made to hold a keynote speech on the topic of change.

The process
The presentation took place as part of an internal team day in front of around 80 employees – live, on site, at the company headquarters. Marcus Richter, an experienced speaker and team trainer at BITOU, led a 30-minute session that began with an interactive question:
“When was the last time you did something for the first time?”

The keynote speech focused on the natural resistance to change, the psychological phases of change – but also on responsibility, attitude, and the courage to let go of the old. Using vivid examples, humorous anecdotes, and concrete team references, Marcus succeeded in conveying the topic in a way that was both understandable and emotional.

Particularly impressive was a live exercise on “shifting comfort zones,” which led many attendees out of their usual way of thinking – in a friendly and connecting way.

The impact
Even during the break, people were still talking about statements from the keynote speech, such as:
“Change doesn’t start in the organizational chart – it starts in the mind.”

Employees felt taken seriously and encouraged. Many described the keynote speech as an “eye-opener” and praised the mixture of depth and lightness. Even more skeptical voices were open to the steps ahead.

Conclusion
The keynote speech was the decisive starting signal for a successful cultural change. Instead of a lecture, it generated genuine interest and a willingness to engage in conversation. The clear practical relevance, the authentic approach, and the well-thought-out structure were convincing across the board.
