The Ortenau Clinic in Offenburg is one of the largest municipal hospital networks in Baden-Württemberg – and for the past four years, it has been using a very special format for its onboarding event: the Chain Reaction XXL.
Once a month, the hospital welcomes its new employees with this interactive, team-building experience. Together with our experienced team trainer Marcus, participants develop a functioning chain reaction from a wide variety of materials, which is assembled into one large overall reaction – symbolising the new collaboration in everyday hospital life.
The objective is clear:
New employees should not only settle in, but also quickly feel part of the team. The event playfully prepares them for the challenges ahead, strengthens their sense of togetherness, and creates an authentic level of trust through targeted stimuli – both among themselves and with the existing team. This allows new colleagues to be integrated directly into the team and also get to know people from other departments. This creates a completely different team spirit and increases motivation.
