When impulses ignite: team spirit in its most dynamic form
In a short time and with little space required, something is created that really moves teams: in the Chain Reaction Compact, participants experience dynamic collaboration in which ideas build on each other, impulses are passed on, and a tangible sense of togetherness emerges.
As funnels, pipes, balls, wheels, and many other materials are connected to create a functioning chain reaction, it becomes clear just how well cooperation can work and how motivating shared moments of success can be.
And even before everyday life resumes, the teams take away impressions and ideas that will have a positive long-term impact on their collaboration.
How your Chain Reaction Compact unfolds – step by step to team momentum
Welcome & warm-up – the spark ignites
All participants gather in the plenary session and immediately there is excitement in the air. In a short, activating warm-up, we set the first creative impulses. The group senses:
Here we go!
In the next 60–90 minutes, a challenge awaits that is fun, connects everyone, and brings them together in a shared activity.
Forming your team – the start of a shared experience
Now the teams are formed—either randomly or according to your preferences (e.g., cross-departmental). Once each group is together, they head to their own work table.
Here, the teams get to know each other, gather initial ideas, and cast curious glances at the neighboring tables. After all, everything will soon be connected—in the truest sense of the word.
Construction phase – now it’s buzzing with energy
Let’s go! Each team receives its own box of materials full of components, possibilities, and surprises.
This is where it becomes clear who in the team contributes what talent—tinkerers, idea generators, doers.
The challenge:
Your chain reaction must not only work, but also connect perfectly to the neighboring tables.
There is communication, laughter, experimentation, rebuilding, and suddenly a piece of a larger whole is growing everywhere.
An intense mix of creativity, teamwork, and “we can do this” moments.
The grand finale – a moment that brings people together
The construction phase is over, everyone stands in a circle—and the air crackles with excitement. A hand signal, an impulse…and the chain reaction begins. Table by table, step by step, the enthusiasm grows.
As soon as the chain reaction is complete, pure joy erupts. The moment when everything comes together triggers cheers, laughter, and genuine goosebumps. A shared sense of achievement that carries and unites the whole team.
A group photo or a short video captures this moment – as a reminder of a shared experience that will linger long after.
Optional: a short feedback session with transfer to everyday work. What went well and where were there difficulties? What insights can we gain from this for our teamwork?
Increase efficiency with smart format combinations
With targeted add-on modules, you can make optimal use of your budget, time, and goals—and develop your team step by step.
- Integration into the kick-off meeting: Use Chain Reaction Compact as a key impulse to start the day—building energy, visible momentum, and a sense of unity.
- Onboarding new employees: Use Chain Reaction Compact as an introduction to get to know each other in an uncomplicated way – followed by, for example, our LEGO® Creative Game format to further break down silo thinking and make collaboration more concrete.
- Modular upgrade: Start with the compact version (60–90 min.), then, e.g., after 6 months, a more in-depth format (from Level 2) can follow – e.g., Chain Reaction XXL or Chain Reaction 4.0 if you want to integrate more time, larger groups, or digital/technological elements.
The added value of the chain reaction in a nutshell:
✔ Energy & Fun, that connects instantly: In no time at all, a lively dynamic develops that creates a good atmosphere and brings teams together in a playful way—ideal as a warm-up or highlight of a team day.
✔ Everyone can participate – no prior knowledge required: The task is designed in such a way that all participants are actively involved. No one is left out, every idea counts. Perfect for heterogeneous groups.
✔ Effective team dynamics in a short time: In just 60–90 minutes, a genuine sense of togetherness develops. Ideal for meetings, onboarding sessions, or workshops to quickly activate team spirit.
✔ Recognizing roles and strengths: Working together on a construction project brings out natural roles: strategists, doers, creatives. This strengthens self-perception and external perception within the team, without any pressure.
✔ Promoting sustainable cooperation: Reflection after the event provides valuable insights into communication, process thinking, and collaboration—with a direct impact on everyday work.
✔ Experience cooperation in a playful way: Teams must coordinate, communicate across tables, and make decisions together—a straightforward exercise in genuine collaboration.
✔ High benefits with minimal organizational effort: Requires little space, easy to integrate into existing programs – ideal for companies looking for efficient, sustainable, and effective team-building initiatives.
What our customers say

A systematic introduction – Chain Reaction Compact is BITOU Level 1
At BITOU, all team events are structured according to a clear principle of effectiveness – BITOU Levels 1 to 4. These show how deeply an experience influences team dynamics and what goal it pursues.
The Chain Reaction Compact belongs to Level 1:
a short, activating experience that immediately connects people, is fun, and lays the foundation for sustainable cooperation. The aim here is to generate energy, promote communication in a playful way, and arouse positive emotions in the team – the basis for every further development format.
BITOU Level 1 is particularly suitable:
- for kick-offs, conferences, or onboarding days,
- when teams are newly formed or need a fresh boost,
- and wherever effective team building is required without a significant time investment.
Those who want to take the next step will find more in-depth reflection components in the Level 2 formats such as Turn Around or LEGO® Creative Game.
