Change Management Workshop

“Nothing is as constant as change” – as the philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus (535–475 BC) recognised. To remain successful in a dynamic environment, companies and their teams must be flexible and adaptable. Yet change often brings with it uncertainty and resistance. Our Change Management Workshop will help you overcome these challenges – your team will learn to embrace change!

Change Management Workshop Programme

Workshop Objectives and Content

BITOU’s Change Management Workshop helps your team to proactively shape change. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on modules, change management is made tangible and applicable. You will learn how to communicate change effectively, overcome resistance and establish a culture of change within your organisation.

Theory before practice

The workshop begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of change management. In this theoretical section, you will learn why change is necessary and how you, as a manager or team member, can deal with it successfully. Practical models and methods are taught that you can apply immediately.

The theoretical section is followed by the practical module, in which participants put what they have learnt into practice in a safe environment. This blend of theory and practice ensures that your staff not only know what to do, but also how to do it.

Practical modules: experiencing and understanding change

At the heart of the workshop are our practical modules, which enable participants to master change in a hands-on way.

Planetary Saga – Learning change management: In this interactive simulation, participants become intergalactic explorers who discover new planets and encounter unexpected challenges. This exercise strengthens decision-making skills in uncertain situations and promotes teamwork to solve problems together.

Turn Around – Learning change processes through play: This activity module simulates a crisis situation that requires swift action and clear decisions. Participants must work as a team to ‘turn the ship around’ and overcome the crisis. This exercise impressively demonstrates how important it is to stand together in times of crisis and actively shape change.

Both modules are designed to take your staff out of their comfort zone and train them to deal with real-life change scenarios.

Reflection and application in everyday work

Finally, we reflect together on the experiences and outcomes of the workshop. Through targeted reflection sessions and facilitated discussions, we develop concrete approaches and tools to integrate the newly gained insights into everyday working life in a sustainable way. You will receive practical tips on how to continuously drive and manage change.

Your benefit: Building change competence

BITOU’s Change Management Workshop helps you build change management capabilities within your organisation. Through a balanced mix of theory and practice, your staff will be empowered not only to cope with change, but also to actively shape it. Take this opportunity to prepare your team for the challenges of the future.

What is change management?

An overview of the concept

Literally translated, change management means the management of change. Change can be implemented in a chaotic or structured manner. A structured change is often the better choice in an organisation with many team members. This is precisely where the concept of change management comes in: it is about systematically planning changes to ensure that they are implemented successfully and sustainably. The aim of change management is to make the transition from the current state to a desired future state as smooth as possible.

John Kotter’s Change Management Method

To successfully implement changes such as digital transformation or ensure a seamless transition during mergers and acquisitions, it is essential to plan the entire project carefully and tackle it in a structured manner. It can be helpful to draw on tried-and-tested change management models. One of the best-known models is John Kotter’s 8-step model. This model focuses on how employees react at each stage of the change process. Read more about the 8-step model on our blog.

Challenges in change management: How BITOU’s workshop provides targeted support

We have put together a few examples of how our workshop can help you:

Resistance to change

Challenge: Change processes often meet with resistance within the team. Employees feel insecure, overwhelmed or afraid of the consequences of change.
Solution through the workshop: The workshop fosters a better understanding of the need for change and teaches techniques for identifying resistance at an early stage and dealing with it constructively. Through the interactive modules, the team is empowered to tackle challenges together and overcome resistance.

Lack of communication and transparency

Challenge: In many companies, change processes fail due to inadequate communication. Employees feel they are not being kept sufficiently informed or do not understand the objectives of the change.
Solution through the workshop: In the theoretical part of the workshop, managers and employees learn how to communicate changes clearly and transparently. The activity modules offer practical exercises to develop and apply effective communication strategies, which increases acceptance and commitment within the team.

Uncertainty and a lack of direction

Challenge: Change often brings uncertainty. Employees do not know how to behave in the new situation and lose their bearings.
Solution through the workshop: The workshop helps to create a clear direction and structure within the change process. Through simulations such as “Planetary Saga”, participants learn how to make decisions quickly and confidently, even in uncertain situations. This gives the team the necessary confidence and direction.

Erosion of team cohesion

Challenge: Change can jeopardise team cohesion, particularly when individual employees feel disadvantaged or hold differing views on the change processes.
Solution through the workshop: The activity modules promote team spirit and mutual understanding. Exercises such as “Turn Around” demonstrate how important it is to stand together in times of crisis and find solutions together. This strengthens cohesion and ensures the team emerges from the change process more united.

Overwhelmed by the complexity of change

Challenge: Complex change processes can be overwhelming for employees, especially if they don’t know where to start.
Solution through the workshop: The workshop offers structured approaches to breaking even complex changes down into manageable steps. Through practical exercises, it fosters the ability to approach problems systematically and solve them collaboratively, which significantly reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed.
